Corporate clients are increasingly looking for much more from their online booking tool than the simple ability to efficiently process business travel requests, according to international corporate services company Hogg Robinson Group (HRG). As a result, and in line with its commitment to delivering higher value integrated solutions, HRG has further enhanced its proprietary self service reservation tool (SSR), HRG OnlineTM.
First launched in 2002, HRG Online (which covers air, hotel, parking and rail bookings) has benefited from continuous development and upgrades to ensure that the simple to use, highly intuitive solution meets the rapidly changing requirements of corporate clients. In addition to an improved ‘look and feel’ with easier to use site navigation, the latest round of improvements includes:
- Full integration with HRG i-Suite (HRG’s web-based portal) to create a seamless online travel environment offering a wealth of valuable information to assist in the booking process
- An extended range of policy management options including the ability to set controls and rules by class and flight duration, apply price ‘caps’ within certain cities or select ‘best fare on the day’ options, as well as highlighting out of policy decisions
- A synchronised profile management option, enabling the corporate traveller to make changes to personal profiles and have them automatically updated across all HRG systems
- Ability to view all relevant travel itineraries, whether they are booked online or ‘classically’ via a business travel consultant.
HRG is also planning further enhancements to HRG Online later this year including: the ability to make multiple passenger bookings (to assist travel bookers when handling the requirements of small groups of passengers travelling together); additional policy management controls (covering individual routes, hotels, car and rail policies); and, an improved pre-trip authorisation process.
Bill Brindle, Business Technology & Distribution Director at HRG, commented: “Some five years ago we took a strategic decision to develop our own service orientated technologies and work with key third party products to enable us to deliver the truly integrated capabilities that clients would need in the future.
“Since 2006 the number of online bookings made by our clients has increased significantly and integrated systems, products and services are even more important than ever. The latest version of HRG Online is now even easier to use for travel bookers, but also offers previously untapped benefits to travel programme managers in the shape of dynamic content management, resulting in better informed decisions.”
Developed using HRG’s own cutting edge technology platform, HRG Universal Super PlatformTM, customisation and flexibility are key characteristics of HRG Online. The product can be modified to suit individual client needs and include their own negotiated rates, travel policy and compliance standards and comprehensive reporting options. The enhanced version will be made available in the UK, North America and certain European countries in the first half of 2008 with further markets to follow later in the year.
